In August community information sessions will be held around the country to offer communities the opportunity to learn more about the National Landcare Programme.
The National Landcare Programme is designed to deliver simple, local and long-term solutions to environmental challenges. It is important that farmers, environmental groups, local Landcare bodies and natural resource management organisations have their say.
I encourage residents to take part in the consultation either in person or through the consultation survey which can be completed online.
A community information session will be held in Dubbo on Tuesday 5 August, from 10.30am-12.30pm at the Dubbo RSL, Brisbane Street, Dubbo.
More information about the consultation survey and the community information sessions is available at www.nrm.gov.au.
The Government will also shortly announce details of funding for future small projects and a one-off grants programme to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Landcare. I encourage local Landcare groups to take advantage of this funding opportunity.

Increasing Australia’s productivity over coming years will be essential in maintaining our high standard of living. One way of doing this is by ensuring that new business is supported through Government programmes.
The Federal Government will be implementing a $484.2 million Entrepreneurs’ Infrastructure Programme. This Programme is designed to help small and mediums sized businesses to build on their strengths and step into new growth areas.
The Government has established a Single Business Service initiative which simplifies how information and services can be accessed through a single website or contact number. Advisors will be on hand to provide evaluations or assistance to businesses in the Parkes Electorate.
There are over 680,000 small and medium businesses in New South Wales. These enterprises create jobs and underpin our economy. The Government has been focused on removing red tape to ensure that help is available and easily accessible for local businesses. The full range of services through the Entrepreneurs Infrastructure Programmes will be rolled out in coming months providing further access to business management advice and connections to research.
More information about the Entrepreneurs’ Infrastructure Programme can be accessed through www.business.gov.au or by calling 13 28 46.
